The Federal Government announced on Wednesday 28, that the H5N1 influenza virus, also known as bird flu, which was reported to have hit 7 states in the country is now currently in 11 states.
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, said the four affected states include Oyo, Jigawa, Gombe and Imo.
He said the total number of birds exposed had risen to 232,385 with 51,444 mortalities recorded.
