Nutrition and Cervical Cancer.

About 10,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer in our country every year.  Cervical cancer is the commonest cause of cancer-related deaths in Africa, and deaths attributed to it are also on the rise globally. Cervical cancer kills a woman every two minutes worldwide and kills a Nigerian woman every one hour.
While the victims of cervical cancer defies medical treatment, the World Health Organisation projects a 25 per cent increase in the number of women to get cervical cancer during their lifetime in the absence of widespread intervention. What a grim future for our mothers, sisters and aunts? But if cervical cancer and other cancers defy orthodox treatment protocols-surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, what form of medical intervention can shield women against this deadly scourge? Currently, prevention of cervical cancer is a top medical agenda hoping to be actualised with screening and HPV vaccination.  Women are made to believe that these measures can protect them from this deadly scourge. According to Dr. Winifred Osarunwense of Care Totalis, “if women tap into HPV vaccination, we can eradicate cervical cancer 30 years from now”. But this may be far from the truth because HPV vaccination has drawbacks that make it as dangerous as cervical cancer. In fact, if Nigerian women are contemplating having HPV vaccination to ward off the risk of cervical cancer, the fatal experience recorded in the United States and India may make them change their minds.
The (HPV) vaccines have been implicated in at least 67 deaths in the U.S. and it prompted no response from U.S. officials other than to keep pushing it on the public. But the deaths of six young girls in India removed the veil on the inherent dangers in HPV as Indian government immediately stopped all trials of the vaccines. The two vaccines were allowed to undergo clinical trial (Phase III) in India before being granted permission for import and market authorisation.
Since many women in the industrialised world are now learning about the dangers of HPV vaccinations and rejecting them, drug companies have moved to the developing countries in their quest to market these dangerous vaccines. Apart from 67 US deaths reported in the Vaccine Adverse Event Report System (VAERS), there have also been countless reports of serious damaging side effects of HPV vaccines.
Invariably, medical treatment and prevention of cervical cancer are like a choice between the deep blue sea and the devil. But how can nutrition rescue women from the scourge of cervical cancer?
Bee Propolis:
This is a beehive product that ranks number one among the natural arsenals that can ward-off the risk of cancer. It’s anti-viral, anti-tumour and antiseptic powers have been validated by numerous clinical studies around the world. In Russia, women suffering from erosion of the uterus, irritated cervix and other vaginal problems were successfully treated with propolis. Also, in Bulgaria 60 women between the ages of 40 and 60 with cervical arthrosis were treated with propolis. Following the treatment, the clinical condition of 32 women completely returned to normal and 28 women significantly improved. It can be used for both prevention and healing of cervical cancer and variety of gynaecological diseases.
Raw Honey:
There is a theory linking hormones and incidence of cancer and that adequate supply of enzymes could halt the cancer–causing action of certain hormones in the body. The fact that enzymes stop the ignition of cancer makes raw honey a must-take every day to keep cancer at bay. Raw honey contains live enzymes, which are important to the internal actions of many systems of the body. More importantly, the enzyme content of raw honey is one of the highest of all foods. Studies have indicated that honey can stimulate B-lymphocytes and T-lymphocytes to multiply, thus boosting the immune system. An enhanced immune system will be efficient at warding off the risk of cancer. Honey does many good for the body, but its cancer-preventing properties should make it a must-take by the young and old on daily basis.
Garlic:
This popular spice is one of the most widely used herbs globally.  It is a member of the onion family and has numerous health and nutritional benefits. Garlic does not only have natural components that neutralise harmful substances in the body, it also has anti-bacteria, anti-viral and anti-fungal effects.
Garlic is also a powerful anti-cancer agent on account of its different therapeutic actions in the body. Adding garlic to diet will protect the body against cancer by counteracting the growth of many kinds of bacteria, viruses and fungi with its powerful antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties.
Turmeric:
Turmeric, a spiced related to ginger, has also shown clinical value in cancer prevention and treatment. It’s highly antiseptic and bactericidal noted for its power to arrest bleeding, pain and swelling. Clinical trials conducted with humans show that an anti-tumour isolated from turmeric is effective against cervical cancer. The essential oil of turmeric is composed mainly of curcumol and curdione, which are potent anti-cancer compounds especially for cervical cancer and lymphosarcoma, carcinoma and skin cancer. There is a cream called Vaginal Guard made with turmeric and other natural ingredients with demonstrated anti-cancer properties to help women to ward-off the risk of cervical cancer.
Structured Water:
Though water is the commonest thing, it is the greatest weapon to prevent or heal cancer especially in its structured form. Why and how? Studies have shown that the higher the magnesium intake, for example, through drinking structured water, the lower the cancer incidence. What is structured water? Structured water increases oxygen supply to the cells, which destroy bacteria and virus as well as eliminate tumours. About 30 per cent of all cancer has viruses implicated as casual factors. HPV is associated with over 12 cancers including cervical cancer.  In 1931, Otto Warburg received the Nobel Prize in Medicine for discovering that a low level oxygen environment in the tissues was the cause of cancer. Warburg also showed that cancer cells die in the presence of high oxygen concentration. What can be simpler and cheaper than structured water for women to drink and wash vaginal 2-3 times daily as preventive measures against cervical cancer?
Coconut Oil: Coconut oil is another natural product women can use to keep cervical cancer at bay on account of its antibiotic, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-cancer effects validated by many scientific studies . Coconut oil can be used orally and topically to protect women against the virus that triggers cervical cancer.
