Patients Unhappy with the lack of Residents in UCH

Several patients on admission at the University College Hospital, Ibadan were stranded, yesterday, as the strike by the National Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria began.
Though, the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee and Chairman, Clinical Services, Research and Training, Professor Abiodun Otegbayo said adequate arrangement had been made to reduce the effects of the strike, Vanguard observed that many patients were left unattended to as a result of the strike.
Prof. Otegbayo said: “It is understandable that the strike will virtually affect clinical services in the hospital.
“However, we are trying to cope because we still have consultants rendering skeletal services and also, in the Intensive Care Unit, ICU, we have few residents doctors attending to patients.”
