300 Female Students Receive Breast Cancer Detectors In Borno

About 300 female students, who are furthering their education at various tertiary institutions in Borno state, were presented with set of breast cancer detecting kit and clothing wrapper each, by the Borno State First Lady, Hajiya Nana Kashim Shettima.
State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajja-Fanta Baba Shehu, who distributed the breast cancer detectors on behalf of the Governor’s wife, said the breast cancer has defied all medications that can
only be managed by early detection, hence the provision of detectors to post-secondary level female students.

“So far, all the 300 female students registered have been presented each with set of breast cancer detecting kit and clothing wrapper in order to be protected by detecting likely breast cancer very early,” she said.A Health personnel, Hajiya Amina, who accompanied the distributing team, demonstrated to the beneficiaries how to use the kits and detect breast cancer as early as possible.
Shortly after the distribution of the breast cancer detectors in Ramat Polytechnic Maiduguri, the Rector, Engr. Babagana Umara commended the initiative, describing it as the first of its kind. He also appealed for more of such breast cancer detecting kits in view of the large number of female students in the institution.
