Kano Pillars’ defender, Reuben Ogbonnaya, who was shot during last week armed robbery on the team bus, will undergo surgery to remove a bullet from his head. Five of the players who sustained various injuries after the attack were re-admitted on Friday, but the duo of Adamu Murtala and Otekpa Eneji have been discharged from the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital on Wednesday. Team Doctor, Idris Ibn Garba confirmed the latest developments and stated that the players were on their way to full recovery.
“The players are recovering fast – Gambo (Mohammed) is getting better but we are waiting for the management and government to conclude arrangement for his medical trip abroad,”

“Ogbonnaya still has a bullet in his head which will likely be removed on Wednesday morning. He was asked to come tomorrow morning. We should have done it on Monday but the hospital’s medics had some people in need of surgery to attend to,”
Pillars’ CAF Champions League game against Moroccan side Moghreb Tetouane, has been moved by one week to March 21.
